I agree that there is nothing more maddening than watching a guy pitch when he clearly doesn't have it that day. Too many times, the Tigers have had guys go out there and show poor control and get themselves into a whole bunch of trouble. It's amazing they haven't lost more games that way than they have. Zumaya has been the same the past 3 years. The impression that I get, and I'm no pitching guru, is that sometimes guys come in and they are out of whack from the start and don't have that 'feel' for the ball. If I'm managing a team and I get the impression that tonight is one of those nights, I'm pulling him quickly. If four out of the first five balls Rodney throws are balls, why is he facing a second batter? It's frustrating to see the Tigers relievers, as a corps, walking the bases loaded and then being left in to walk in a run.
