In the latest saga that is the Detroit Tigers off-season, former Detroit Free Press writer Jon Paul Morosi offers his latest fits on possible suitors for the Detroit Tigers big three in his latest work on Fox Sports. As the talks of potential suitors for Miguel Cabrera, Curtis Granderson and Edwin Jackson heat up, so does the chances that one of these three being dealt before the start of the 2010.
Who would of thought that when the Tigers acquired what they considered the “final piece” before the 2008 season it was for the next great slugger to be dealt.

It’s Sunday and that means only one thing! My fantasy football team sucks, so I could care less about the Inactive list or games being played (The Lions already sucked it up on Thursday). I only have one thing on my mind lately and that is off-season baseball. To help feed my hunger I present to you Super Sunday Links. Every Sunday I’ll round up the best links of the week for the Detroit Tigers, The A.L. Central and of course Major League Baseball.
Without Further Ado, he is the first installment of the Super Sunday Links:
[A.L. Central Proccessing] Wally Fish [...]
After a two month hiatus (the best actors do it sometimes okay!), This Week in Detroit Tigers Baseball is set to return early next week! Coming up on the first show back we will talk about all the obvious topics. Who will the Tigers trade? Who is someone that the Tigers could pick up? We will discuss it all on the next TWIDTB!
But until then, I need your help. What are your thoughts on the off-season? What should the Tigers do? What will be a successful Winter Meetings? Get all of your thoughts onto the show by dropping a voicemail [...]
It’s going to be a rough couple of months for Detroit Tigers fans. Plain and simple as it is, the rumors are out. A fire sale is imminent. Or is it? Here is the point- now that the Tigers have been tagged as sellers this off-season, everything written about them is going to be about getting rid of talent. No matter what happens, no matter how ridiculous the rumor. Turkey Day is over, winter is ahead and so are is the cream of the crop of what us fans call the off-season. I don’t know about you, but I am [...]
How They Got Here
Now that the 40 man roster is officially set (pending any free agent signings or trades, of course), I thought I would examine how each of those 40 players became part of the organization. I flat-out stole the idea from True Blue LA, who did a very good job diagramming the current Dodgers and how they got to LA. So with my apologies and many thanks to Eric Stephen for the idea, here goes.
Of the current 40 man roster, the breakdown is fairly simple, 19 players were drafted by the Tigers and have remained in the organization throughout their careers, another [...]
Granderson to Host TV Series
Amid all the trade speculation that has his name connected with deals that would send him anywhere from New York to L.A., Curtis Granderson is occupying his mind with other things. As he recovers from a grueling season and gets prepared for the holidays, Granderson has decided to launch headlong into another venture: a television show.
I’ll not get into the specifics of the show, James Schmehl’s article covers that pretty well if you are interested. Instead I’ll focus on what Granderson should be focusing on; baseball.
Granderson set a new career high in home runs in 2009 and made his first all-star [...]
The long and grueling off-season if officially here. The winter months bring many speculations. Writers, Fans and even members of the Tigers organization will be frying up the best solutions for the 2010 Tigers. Ideas will pan out. Decisions will be made. Payrolls will be set.
Twins fans are already seeing it unfold. Minnesota has taken what they find is a strength in the outfield and have used it to fill a need at the shortstop position. It has become custom for the Twins to lay low and keep the same payroll. The Twins have grown their base from within. With [...]
Rosenthal's Fantasy World
In the wake of last week’s frenzy of information and speculation about the Tigers being open to trading a few of their players, Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports decided to go all shock-jock on us and toss out a ridiculous scenario where the Tigers would trade Miguel Cabrera to Boston. In return, the Red Sox would surrender Jonathan Papelbon, Mike Lowell, and a “top prospect”.
Seriously, this is what it has come to?
I would expect to read stuff like this from a high school kid who thinks saves and fielding percentage are actually useful statistics. I get that in fantasy baseball, this trade [...]
