Joaquin Benoit Really Will Play for the Detroit Tigers

The Chicago Sun-Times recently put together a large spread following the Cubs’ big acquisition of a pitcher. The large photo featured the player wearing the uniform of his former team, the Tampa Bay Rays.

Who is the player that was so prominently featured in the Sun-Times? Joaquin Benoit.

Wait, I thought the Tigers signed Joaquin Benoit early in the Hot Stove season. Settle down, they did.

It seems the staff at the Chicago Sun-Times can’t, or didn’t take the time to, tell the difference between Joaquin Benoit and Matt Garza, who was the centerpiece of a huge multi-player deal last week.
