It’s nice to see that many of the young pitchers are having early success. Especially those that throw from the left side. Furbush and Oliver are both making cases for call ups, and if Brad Penny continues to struggle, one of them may not have to wait all that long. I wouldn’t mind seeing another lefty in the Tigers’ rotation.

Holaday, Fields, and Castellanos have all been struggling at the plate (although Nick’s been doing a little better lately), but it’s way too early to be concerned. Especially since all we have here are numbers.

If you’re going to be scoreboard watching today, keep your eyes on Erie and Lakeland. Casey Crosby (1:05 PM) and Drew Smyly (6:00 PM) are scheduled to make starts.
