The Tigers have released Brennan Boesch. #Tigers

It’s kind of surprising that the Tigers would go through the whole process of tendering an arbitration offer, coming to a contract agreement, and beginning spring training before deciding just to cut ties. My guess is that they hoped they could move him for something even marginal in return in a trade but found that there weren’t any takers for such a deal.
By releasing Boesch today, #Tigers owe him one-sixth of his salary if he’s not claimed on waivers. Would’ve been one-fourth had they waited.
