Tigers manager Brad Ausmus said during a phone interview Friday with the Free Press that he’s not overly concerned.
“Despite the fact this is a little bit of a setback physically, his previous workouts will probably allow him to catch up to speed much quicker,” Ausmus said.

“He is the only player to gain induction to the Hall of 100 in 2013, fresh off of winning his second straight MVP award and leading the Tigers to their third straight AL Central title,” ESPN writes. “In 2012, he became the first player since Carl Yastrzemski in 1967 to win the Triple Crown in either league.”
Chris Cron, who has managed the Erie SeaWolves the past four seasons, has been named minor league hitting coordinator for the Arizona Diamondbacks, the team announced Friday.
Cron’s departure leaves the Tigers without a manager for their Double-A affiliate, which is set to open its season April 3 against the Altoona Curve, the Pirates’ Double-A affiliate.
