With threatening skies and bad weather all day long in Chicago, the Detroit Tigers and Chicago White Sox will not play the second game of their four-game set tonight at U.S. Cellular Field.

No makeup date has been announced. This is the Tigers’ second trip into Chicago this season and they return during the last weekend of August (29-30) so expect a double-header at some point in this series or in that August series. Rain is in the forecast through Thursday’s scheduled series finale between the teams, so August seems more likely.

The Tigers are now 4-for-4 in postponements against AL Central Rivals.

  • April 14 vs. Indians (makeup 7/19)
  • April 27 at Twins (makeup 8/23)

Justin Verlander was slated to face John Danks and Miguel Cabrera was to be the DH for second straight night. It’s unsure at this point whether any of this will change for tomorrow’s game. Drew Smyly and Andre Rienzo are Wednesday’s scheduled starters.
