When We Last Met

The Detroit Tigers’ offense broke out in the ninth inning and cemented the series win with a decisive 5-1 victory. Detroit looks to not only sweep the Royals but also to take a six game winning streak into the All Star break while extending their lead in the Central Division to 8.5 games.

Verlander is 17-6 with a 3.10 ERA in 215 innings against Kansas City in his career. He last faced the Royals June 16th and was shelled, giving up seven runs on 12 hits in sic innings.
