The Detroit Tigers and Cleveland Indians were rained out for the second straight time Saturday night. The teams will play a traditional doubleheader Sunday beginning at 1:10 PM with the second game starting 30 minutes after game one ends.

This doubleheader makes up for Friday’s rainout. Neither team have common days off the rest of the season so it’s possible both teams will only play 161 games this season.

A makeup game could be scheduled on October 5th, the Monday after the regular season ends, if has playoff implications. The Tigers elimination number for the second Wild Card spot is 13. The Indians are currently four games behind the Texas Rangers for that playoff spot.

Justin Verlander will face Cody Anderson, the scheduled Friday matchup, in the first game. In the second Randy Wolf squares off against Trevor Bauer.
