Detroit Tigers fans will be hoping for a win on Monday, as the team begins a four-game series against the American League West’s Oakland Athletics. Jordan Zimmermann will oppose Kendall Graveman.

Detroit Tigers players have had trouble notching a win as of late. The team will try again for a victory after four straight losses. The Tigers dropped the series finale in Kansas City, before being swept by the Cleveland Indians.

As it stands, Detroit is 8-9 so far this. The hot start is long in the rear-view mirror, and only the sluggish Twins are keeping the Tigers out of last place, but there is hope with Oakland in town.

Despite a strong road record (7-2) The A’s feature an anemic offense. That, combined with another start by Jordan Zimmermann, could help Brad Ausmus’ team get on a role to kick off a new week. Oakland always features solid pitching, but this could be the Tigers chance to break out some hitting in front of the home fans and get some momentum going before the season kicks into high gear.

Here’s Detroit’s lineup, per the team’s official Twitter account

More from Motor City Bengals

  5. J.D. Martinez, RF
  6. Nick Castellanos, 3B
  7. Jarrod Saltalamacchia, C

The big changes are obvious, Justin Upton and Miguel Cabrera return to the lineup after starting Sunday’s game on the bench. Tyler Collins will get yet another start in center for the struggling Anthony Gose, who has just two hits and 11 strikeouts in his last 24 at-bats. Gose only has two walks over the same span of time.
