In an MLive.com article from Thursday afternoon, Steve Kornacki discussed what the Tigers must do to win the division. I didn’t really agree with much of what he said in the trade deadline portion of the article, but my biggest beef came with this statement:
A trade that could make a difference without costing much is picking up shortstop Jack Wilson from the Seattle Mariners.
This isn’t the first time I’ve heard talk of the Tigers trading for Wilson this year, and that’s what made me so upset. My biggest problem with the deal is that Jack Wilson would immediately become the [...]

Jack Wilson Dealt to Mariners
You can exhale now, Tigers fans. The seemingly yearly courtship between the Tigers and shortstop Jack Wilson may have officially come to an end today, as the Pirates shipped Wilson off to Seattle for catching prospect Jeff Clement.
MLB Trade Rumors reports the deal is a seven player swap, with Ian Snell joining Wilson in going to the M’s. The Pirates will receive Clement, along with shortstop Ronny Cedeno, and minor leaguers Aaron Pribanic, Brett Lorin and Nathan Adcock.

So you want to make a deadline trade? Ready to empty the farm system for a veteran slugger? You need an all-star right hander? They are all for sale for the right price. Whether your club is a buyer or a seller this year, the deals you make (or don’t make) will impact the team for years to come.

Let’s just say that I am happy that the Tigers are dening the reports that they have acquired Jack Wilson. The Pirate shortstop was according to a report shipped out of the Steel City, right into the motor city. The same writer, Dan Graziano stated that the Tigers have denied the reports. He still believes that a deal could be put in place by the end of the weekend.
I just pray that it wont.
The same day that Edgar Renteria finally left us for good, the rumors that have haunted me the last few weeks are coming to life. It’s not [...]
