Detroit Tigers fans will be hoping for yet another victory Tuesday, as the Tigers return to action to do battle with the Cleveland Indians. Justin Verlander will oppose Josh Tomlin in Cleveland.

Detroit Tigers players are playing some good baseball as of late. After a rough period that saw the team mired at 8-9, the Tigers have won six of seven, and five straight, to move their record to 14-10.

As it stands, only the Chicago White Sox and Boston Red Sox have more wins in the American League. Additionally, Detroit’s +17 run differential ranks fourth in the AL, behind only Chicago, Boston and the Seattle Mariners.

It’s safe to say the Tigers are playing much better after being swept at the hands of Cleveland. Detroit lost three home games to the Tribe right before the current hot streak. One key component in that game was starter Josh Tomlin, who limited Detroit to four hits and a run in 6.2 innings pitched. If the Tigers want to continue the team’s run of good form, they’ll need to get to Tomlin.

Luckily for manager Brad Ausmus, Detroit has a number of hitters with considerable success against the 31-year-old. Miguel Cabrera is a .333 hitter in 15 career at-bats against Tomlin. The slugger has a double, a home run, four walks and four RBI. Second baseman Ian Kinsler is hitting a blistering .353 versus the righty, while Jarrod Saltalamacchia is 4-for-5 with a walk, a double, a home run and four RBI.

Coming off of a day off, Ausmus will likely trot out all of his starters. Here’s what the lineup could look like.

  1. Ian Kinsler, 2B
  2. J.D. Martinez, RF
  3. Miguel Cabrera, 1B
  4. Victor Martinez, DH
  5. Justin Upton, LF
  6. Nick Castellanos, 3B
  7. Jarrod Saltalamacchia, C
  8. Anthony Gose, CF
  9. Jose Iglesias, SS
