Miguel Cabrera has arrived at spring training. Anthony Fenech, of the Detroit Free Press, writes that he’s focused on staying healthy.  This is Miggy’s 11th spring training with the Detroit Tigers and his recent court case with his ex-mistress has been a distraction for the veteran.

With spring training well underway, Evan Woodbery breaks down eight spring training battles to watch. The number one battle to watch according to Woodbery is the battle for the number five spot in the starting rotation. Tigers pitcher, Buck Farmer, is a part of that battle. But he’d accept bullpen work as long as he’s pitching in Comerica Park.

Ron Gardenhire is giving plenty of advice already in spring training. Detroit Sports Nation writes that the players are taking his advice literally. New pitching coach Chris Bosio is already making an impact on players, writes Katie Strang of the Athletic.

The Detroit Tigers are looking to add another pitching arm before the season starts. They were interested in Chris Tillman until the Orioles brought him back on a one-year deal. Tim Lincecum held a showcase for MLB teams last week, and Andy Patton writes he could be a viable option for the team.
