The San Diego Padres were one of the World Series favorites before the season started, but now they sit outside of the playoff picture and 10 games back from the NL West lead.

They narrowly edged out a 5-4 victory over the Tigers on Friday night and now Detroit will be looking to even up the interleague series on Saturday.

Let's dive into the odds for the game and then I'll give your my best bet.

Padres vs. Tigers odds, run line, and total

Padres vs. Tigers prediction and pick

The Tigers are in a great spot as underdogs on Saturday.

The Padres have called up Jackson Wolf to make his first Major League start. He enters the game with a 3.39 ERA in 17 starts in AA this season. He's going to leapfrog AAA and try to see if he can find success at the MLB level.

Not only is his lack of AAA or MLB experience a good sign for the Tigers, but it's also worth noting that Wolf is a lefty. Over the last 30 days, the Tigers' OPS increases from .632 against right-handed pitchers to .733 against left-handed pitchers.

The Tigers will also be starting arguably their best pitcher, Matt Manning, for today's game. He rocks a 3.38 ERA and a 0.981 WHIP ahead of today's start.

All of this is lining up for the Tigers to be a great underdog bet at home. Let's take a shot.
