Rays vs. Tigers prediction and odds for Friday, August 4 (Bet Detroit as underdog)
The Tigers are in a great underdog spot on Friday against the Tampa Bay Rays.

Unfortunately for Tigers fans, the playoffs may be too far out of reach to have much hope left this season.
But, with that being said, there's still pride to play for and this weekend's series against the Rays may provide some of that. You can be assured they'll be heavy underdogs in all three games, but I think they are well positioned to steal a game or two, including tonight.
Let's dive into it.
Rays vs. Tigers odds, run line, and total
Rays vs. Tigers prediction and pick
If there's a time the Tigers can take down the Rays, it's not. Tampa Bay's offense has been struggling lately. Over the past 30 days, they rank 25th in OPS and 28th in batting average, hitting just .219. Surprisingly, the Tigers are batting .238 over that time frame, quite a bit better than the Rays.
Reese Olson gets the start for the Tigers tonight, and while he's coming off two rough starts, he has proven he can be a competent starter for this team. Now that he gets to face a team that's batting .219 over the past month, he shouldn't have too much of an issue with the Rays lineup.
I feel comfortable taking the Tigers as home underdogs tonight.
