The Detroit Tigers won their first of three games against the Texas Rangers, but lost the other two.

Now, the two teams will play in a Thursday matinee matchup to wrap up this four-game set. The Tigers will need to win today to tie the series, and more importantly, start to close the gap in the AL Central.

Let's dive into the odds for today's series finale and then I'll give you my best bet.

Tigers vs. Rangers odds, run line, and total

Tigers vs. Rangers prediction and pick

Believe it or not, I think this a great upset spot for the Tigers. The Rangers are rolling with Cody Bradford tonight, which is fantastic news for Tigers fans and battors.

Bradford has allowed 14 hits, four walks, and nine earned runs in 15.0 innings pitched this season, but what's even more important that his stats is that he's a left-handed pitcher.

The Tigers have been significantly better against lefties this season. In fact, their OPS improves from .649 against righties up to .696 against lefties. That mark against lefty arms is even more significant over the past month. In June, they have a .700 OPS when facing left-handed pitchers.

The Tigers are expected to roll with Reese Olson this afternoon, and he's coming off one of the better starts of his season, striking out nine batters while giving up only one run in 5.1 innings against the Twins.

His 4.74 ERA may not be stunning, but his 3.84 FIP (Field Independent Pitching) tells me we may see some positive regression from him.

Let's ride with the Tigers as underdogs on Thursday afternoon.
