The Detroit Tigers are sitting at 22-25, but yet are still only 2.5 games behind the lead for the AL Central.

That means every game is crucial, especially their four-game series against the Chicago White Sox, which is set to begin today.

Lucas Giolito (3.62 ERA) will take the mound for the White Sox and he'll face Alex Faedo (4.60 ERA) of the Tigers.

Let's take a look at the odds for the game and then I'll give you my best bet.

White Sox vs. Tigers prediction and pick

Instead of betting on a side in this game, I'm going to look at the total instead. Like it or not, the reason these two teams have been struggling this season is largely due to their offenses.

Heading into tonight, they rank 26th and 29th in Major League Baseball in OPS. To make matters worse, their OPS numbers drop even further when facing right-handed pitchers. Since tonight's pitching matchup is a battle of righties, the UNDER is the bet to make.

One of the biggest strengths for these two teams that's going to help us cash this UNDER bet tonight is their bullpens. It may surprise you, but the Tigers and White Sox have two of the best three bullpen ERAs in the month of May.

Their both tied with a bullpen ERA 2.75, with only the Padres bullpen (1.37 ERA) raning higher this month.

That's enough for me to go ahead and take the UNDER in tonight's AL Central battle.
