White Sox 3, Tigers 4 (box)

Carlos Guillen homered for the first time in almost a full calendar year and the Tigers took the nightcap against the White Sox 4-3.  After the 5-1 win in the first game of the double header, the Tigers now stand two full games ahead of Chicago atop the Central division standings.

With the game tied at three in the eighth, a one out Placido Polanco single followed by a Magglio Ordonez double, then an intentional walk to Miguel Cabrera loaded the bases against Scott Linebrink.  Ozzie Guillen went to the lefty Matt Thornton to face the pinch hitter Ryan Raburn.

Raburn fanned on on five pitches, but Clete Thomas was able to work a two-out walk to force home Polanco with the winning run.  Fernando Rodney was darn near impressive while working the ninth for his 21st save of the year.
