Miguel Cabrera out “a couple of weeks” with small fracture

Yesterday, Miguel Cabrera took a ground ball to the face off of the bat of Hunter Pence of the Philadelphia Phillies. It was pretty evident that the ball took a nasty hop, and he had no way to shield himself. Cabrera received eight stiches after the game.

"Buster_ESPNMiguel Cabrera has a small fracture under his right eye, but they have told him he’ll be out only a couple of weeks. He had eight stitches."

Most likely, Brandon Inge will hold down the fort at third base. The good news is that Cabrera was seen joking around with his teammates in the clubhouse this morning.

Buster had some other remarks, too.

"Buster_ESPNDET GM David Dombrowski said there is no question sunglasses helped protect Cabrera’s eye. Non-displaced fracture orbital floor, vision fine"

"Buster ESPNCabrera fully expects to play Opening Day. “I want to thank God I had glasses on.” Says he only started wearing glasses couple days ago"

Hopefully the Tiger slugger will be back for opening day, Thursday, April 4 against Boston.
