AA: Erie 11, Binghamton 4

Tyler Collins went deep for the second day in a row for the Erie SeaWolves. He also doubled and raised his season OPS up to .769.

Hernan Perez continues to be one of the system’s biggest pleasant surprises with the bat. He singled and doubled to boost his season slash line up to .327/.343/.446.

Ramon Cabrera had three singles in three at-bats, Marcus Lemon hit two singles and a triple, and Jamie Johnson singled twice.

Victor Larez (3.54 ERA) was the starting pitcher for Erie. He earned a quality start with a seven inning, three run performance. Larez allowed a home run but didn’t walk a batter while striking out five.

Tyler Clark (6.75 ERA) struck out two, walked one, and allowed a run in two innings of relief work.

A: West Michigan 7, Cedar Rapids 3

Hudson Randall got the start for the Whitecaps. His strikeout-to-walk ratio wasn’t very good (three apiece), but he went six innings and only allowed two runs to score.

Brennan Smith struck out three and walked two in three innings of scoreless relief.

Austin Schotts hit a two-run home run in the seventh inning — his first homer of the year — and also singled. He’s struggled mightily to start the year in an aggressive assignment for his age, but he’s showing signs that his bat may be coming around; he now has seven hits in his last six games.

Jake Stewart also homered in the game (and singled twice). He’s been impressive with a .910 OPS in 22 games this season.

Devon Travis singled and walked twice — his OPS is still over .900 — and Lance Durham singled and doubled.
