If you are bundling up in layers and getting ready to chuck snowballs at Jason Kipnis, Nick Swisher and the lone Cleveland Indians fan in attendance at Comerica Park tonight–STOP. The Detroit Tigers-Cleveland Indians game has been postponed because of cold weather and snow in the Midwest.

No makeup date has been announced, however it will not be made up over the next couple days that Cleveland is in town.

The Detroit Tigers lead the league in days off and tonight will be no different.

The announcement came shortly after 2 p.m. this afternoon and whether or not Anibal Sanchez and Zach McAllister, today’s scheduled starters, will be pushed to tomorrow will remain to be seen. Sanchez has been victimized by the weather a lot recently, having his final Spring Training game wiped out by rain, and his first 2014 start shortened by a rain delay at Comerica Park against Baltimore.

UPDATE:

Tomorrow night stands to be fairly cold as well, but around 10 degree warmer than today (45 degrees) and Thursday afternoon should be nice (sunny and 59).

So grab some hot cocoa and a blanket and endure another Tigers-less day of baseball.
