Jack Morris to join Detroit Tigers broadcast team this week

Look out folks, former Detroit Tiger power pitcher Jack Morris is back in Motown, but this time he’s trading in the glove for a microphone.

It was announced that Morris, a 5 time All Star, would be joining Mario Impemba and Rod Allen in the FSD Broadcast Booth for six games, beginning September 8th. Morris is also currently a color analyst for Fox Sports North, commentating on Minnesota Twins games.

Morris said in a statement;

“I’m happy to be joining the FOX Sports Detroit team for these six games,”“The fans in Detroit have been incredible, and I’m excited to join Rod and Mario in the booth this week.”

Morris was a member of four World Series Championship teams, including the 84′ Tigers. Morris is also the winningest pitcher of the 1980’s, racking up 162 victories during the decade of Cabbage Patch Kids and MTV.

Though it’s only for six days, it’ll be interesting to see what Jack has to bring to the booth.
