Former Tiger Jose Lima Dead at 37

Former Detroit Tigers pitcher Jose Lima has reportedly died of a heart attack at the age of 37.

Lima was known for having one of the biggest personalities in all of the Major Leagues.  He once promised radio personality Jim Rome that Jim could have the baseball if he ever one 20 games. Lima kept his word after his career best 21 win season with the Houston Astros in 1999.

“Lima time” first came to the Major leagues in 1994 with the Tigers. Jose later made stops with Astros, Royals, Dodgers, and Mets. More recently, Lima had played in Korea and independent minor league baseball.
