The Tigers have but one realistic chance to start this year’s All-Star game in Anaheim, but Miguel Cabrera is mired in third place in the vote.
Fans can vote online until Midnight Eastern tonight. Fans can vote up to 25 times per day, per email address, so if you have multiple email addresses, you can vote much more often.
Cabrera is behind both Justin Morneau and Mark Teixeira in the balloting, though he’s had a better year (in my estimation) than either of them. Cabrera is hitting .338 with 20 home runs and 66 RBI. In comparison, Morneau is hitting better (.351) but has just 16 homers and 50 RBI, while Teixeira is batting just .231 with 13 homers and 48 RBI.
So get out the vote, people! Let’s show the world what Detroit fans can do. Just as we did when we sent Brandon Inge to the All-Star game a year ago, we can send Cabrera to the game this year, as a starter. Vote early, vote often, create a new email account or six so you can vote even more!
