Saturday Night a Lose-Lose for Tigers

The Tigers lost a lot more than a game Saturday night.

Magglio Ordonez was thrown out at the plate in the third inning after attempting to score on Miguel Cabrera‘s doubble. On the play, Ordonez’s foot twisted awkwardly and broke his ankle. The injury will need six to eight weeks to heal and will make it very difficult for Odonez to hit the benchmarks for his automatic vesting option for 2011.

Carlos Guillen will also land on the DL with a right calf strain. With Inge already out, the Tigers now have three of their top five RBI producers on the disabled list. Jeff Larish and Will Rhymes have reportedly gotten the call to join the Tigers.
