Tigers Players Shocked By Cabrera News
Once the media was again allowed access to the team, a few players spoke up about the Miguel Cabrera situation. Tigers catcher Alex Avila, who has been training with Cabrera and Magglio Ordonez this winter in Miami didn’t see this coming.
“I’ve known Miguel for a long time now, and it’s a shock to everybody.”

Avila’s comments were echoed by Carlos Guillen who is a close friend of Cabrera’s. Tigers manager Jim Leyland and GM Dave Dombrowski has declined comment thus far and outfielder Brennan Boesch said he would wait to speak to Cabrera before commenting as well.
By all accounts so far, Cabrera had been in Miami working out with trainer Radhi Muhammad at 4.40 Fitness. Muhammad heard the news when he showed up to work out with Ordonez this morning. Jon Paul Morosi has the exclusive interview with Muhammad.
“Very shocked. We were both in shock. Magglio found out about it just like I did. We both have no clue how it happened, or what happened.“We were joking and laughing after the workout yesterday. (Miguel) was ready for the season. That’s the last thing he said to me: ‘I’m ready for the season. It’s going to be (an) MVP (year).’ He was in a jovial mood.”

“He shows up every morning on time, that’s all I knew. There was nothing as far as him going out or anything else. This was a shock to me.Our workouts start around 8:30 or 8:45. He wasn’t late once. As a matter of fact, he usually beats me to the field.”
