Charlie Furbush Officially Recalled By Tigers

We had the word that was coming for a few days now, but per a tweet by the Toledo Mud Hens, the move is official.

Charlie Furbush has been dominant in AAA Toledo. His ERA sits at just 2.91 in 46.1 innings. He fanned 55 batters while walking only 14. Looks like a good move for a team that is desperately needing bullpen help.

Jason Beck tweets the corresponding roster move:

"Sounds like Brad Thomas is going on DL, which clears way for Charlie Furbush to join #Tigers."

The rumor was that Andy Oliver was also supposed to get the call up to take Phil Coke’s spot in the rotation, but with Coke not scheduled to pitch until Monday, the team may give it a few days. Or perhaps they’ll decide that they want to stick with the Coke in the rotation. We’ll have to wait and see on that one.
