All three of these guys are immensely talented hitters, but one simple stat (even if it’s the ‘perfect’ stat) can’t paint an accurate picture. Nor can any use of baseball’s old five tools, these guys have the same ‘tools’ and lack the same ‘tools’ if perhaps in slightly different quantities. I propose the use of a new set of saber tools – ones easier to glean from stats if harder to glean by watching a 20-minute workout video on YouTube and with known and calculable impacts on runs and wins.
