Motor City Bengals has added another writer to its’ roster today just days after the search began. When asked to comment on why MCB decided to add another writer just one month into the season, Editor John Verburg replied, “Because we could..and when you get a chance to add a guy like Brian Sakowski you do it. Now, if you don’t mind, I have a sandwich to eat.”
Motor City Bengals had suffered some roster losses recently, but all of their recent departures have gone on to big things and left amicably, showing that Verburg’s predecessor John Parent, had a keen eye for talent.
“I only hope I have half the skill in finding quality writers as Parent did,” Verburg said in an earlier interview after taking over the Editor position.
Sakowski comes to Motor City Bengals with some writing experience of his own. His site, Ab(r)andon Inge not only covered the Tigers, but other Detroit sports as well. When asked about joining Motor City Bengals, Sakowski said simply, “I’m excited.”
Sakowski is expected to make his debut with MCB on Thursday.
When asked (after Verburg finished his sandwich of course) about any future possible roster moves, Verburg didn’t rule out the idea. In fact, it seemed eminent, “We are still in the market to do some things, so stay tuned…” Verburg said.
