The Detroit Tigers welcome in their historic rivals (three World Series) from the National League for this Monday afternoon exhibition game with the St. Louis Cardinals. The Tigers will look to ratchet up the offense as they went cold over the weekend, notching all five of their runs in one inning on Saturday. They were shutout in a scoreless 10-inning tie with the Atlanta Braves on Sunday.

The Tigers will see a familiar face in the St. Louis lineup as former shortstop Jhonny Peralta made the trip to Lakeland and will bat third for the opponents.

When We Last Met

The Tigers and Cardinals haven’t met since June 19-21, 2012 in Comerica Park. The Tigers took two of three in the series, including a walk-off win on June 21 when a Quintin Berry single plated Ramon Santiago in the 10th.

Tigers Lineup

For the first time all spring, most of the regulars are in the lineup together. This may be the Opening Day Lineup provided Jose Iglesias is healthy.

Drew Smyly gets the start.
