It looked all morning like this was going to happen with rain storms plastering the state of Florida, but it took until nearly 1:15 for officials to actually call off the Detroit Tigers vs. Philadelphia Phillies Spring Training game today.
Not sure how they could possibly get this one in. But it hasn't been called yet. pic.twitter.com/Cmunc4OdUx

Justin Verlander was scheduled to see his first live game action of the spring, but, according to a Lynn Henning tweet, he’ll likely now have to move his throwing session indoors.
Verlander was to have gotten his first start today. Tarp and rain suggest he'll be doing his work indoors. Tigers want him to pitch today.

Rain rain go away so that I may pitch today.

That means it will probably be another few days before we get to see the surgically repaired Verlander on the mound against an actual opponent. Anyway, we all now have a day off of baseball (boo), but at least we can resume our Twitter debates about what the Tigers should do to replace Andy Dirks!
