Fresh off a 15-run barrage in yesterday’s win over the St. Louis Cardinals, the Detroit Tigers will today take on a split-squad version of the Toronto Blue Jays in Lakeland. This is the first of three scheduled Grapefruit League meetings between the former AL East rivals.

When We Last Met
The Tigers won the season series against the Blue Jays 5-2 last season. Rajai Davis stole three bases in the seven games as a member of the Blue Jays.
The July 3 meeting between the two teams brought a bit of drama as a hard slide into second base by Colby Rasmus injured Omar Infante‘s ankle. Infante missed more than a month of games as he recovered and rehabbed from the injury. Infante no longer plays for the Tigers, but I’m guessing there are still some hard feelings held by members of the Detroit side.
Tigers Lineup
Justin Verlander will be the starting pitcher for the Tigers, making his spring debut.
