The Detroit Tigers and Washington Nationals celebrate St. Patrick’s Day by concluding their home-and-home set with a Monday afternoon affair in Lakeland after the Tigers visited Viera on Sunday. The dog days of Spring Training are here for both clubs and with rain in the forecast, neither team would likely be sad to see this one rained out.

When We Last Met

Yesterday in Viera, Justin Verlander started his second game of the spring and was just as dominant as his first start, not allowing a hit until the fourth inning. It ended up just as you’d expect a game started by JV–a pitcher’s duel and a 2-1 Detroit victory.
