The Detroit Tigers will face-off once again with the Washington Nationals in Viera, just a few days after playing them there on Sunday. The Tigers no doubt enjoyed their lone day off of Spring Training as they begin the stretch run of the exhibition season. This game marks the first of three straight away from Joker Marchant Stadium.

When We Last Met

A rain out ruined the St. Patrick’s Day celebration at Joker Marchant Stadium and in the process the back half of a planned home-and-home set with the Nationals had to be abandoned. Sunday in Viera, Justin Verlander started his second game of the spring and was just as dominant as his first start, not allowing a hit until the fourth inning. It ended up just as you’d expect a game started by JV–a pitcher’s duel and a 2-1 Detroit victory. The game likely cemented J.V. being named Opening Day starter.
