For the second straight Monday, the Detroit Tigers have seen their Grapefruit League game cancelled because of rain.
Detroit, scheduled to face the Pittsburgh Pirates in Bradenton, will head back to Lakeland for a meeting with the Atlanta Braves on Tuesday, provided the weather holds out as rainy conditions are predicted to continue through Tuesday in Central Florida. Rick Porcello, who was slated for the start on Monday, will start Tuesday.
Two Tigers did see action on Monday morning. In Lakeland two players that have been sidelined with perceived minor injuries played in a minor league game on the backfields of TigerTown. Pitcher Anibal Sanchez and left fielder Rajai Davis played with seemingly no setbacks.
For Sanchez:
Anibal Sanchez retired 12 batters, allowed seven hits, walked one, threw 71 pitches.

Anibal Sanchez with a big smile: "I'm ready. I'm back on track."

For Davis:
Rajai Davis went 2-for-4 with two singles and a strikeout. 1-for-2, K vs. Sanchez. 0-for-1 vs. Nathan. 1-for-1 vs. Chamberlain.

Rajai Davis: "I'm ready." Says if there were a game today, there's no doubt he would be ready to play.

So although the game being cancelled is a bummer, at least the Tigers are getting some good news to start out this week after a week with nothing but negatively has just passed.
