Now departed from their Lakeland, Florida Spring Training home, the Detroit Tigers travel to Washington, D.C. to take on the Washington Nationals for their final exhibition game of the spring.

There appears to be rain in the forecast for our nation’s capitol, so we’ll have to wait and see if they actually get this game in. They’re not likely to force it if the conditions get slippery.

When We Last Met

The Tigers played the Nationals three times so far this spring with the Tigers winning two and the Nats winning one. A fourth scheduled game was rained out.

Last year’s regular season series was split 2-2 with each team sweeping the two games played at their respective home ballparks.

Anibal Sanchez is scheduled to start for the Detroit Tigers. He’ll be pitching game three of the regular season on Thursday.
