Welp, that’s it for fake baseball for the Detroit Tigers this spring. Bad weather in Washington, D.C. has forced the Tigers and Washington Nationals to call off today’s contest.

The weather report didn’t look good all morning — and they’re simply not going to wait around for a long time or try to force in an exhibition game — so it’s not really a surprise that they just went ahead and called it.

We’ll see the Tigers again on Monday for their Opening Day game vs. the Kansas City Royals at 1:08 PM. The weather report so far calls for 57 degrees and only 10% chance of rain, so we’re looking at decent opening day conditions. Could be warmer, but considering the winter we’ve had, I’ll take mid-to-upper 50s.
