The Detroit Tigers lost a heartbreaker, at least for Spring Training, on Monday night to the New York Yankees. The Tigers blew an, 8-2, lead, giving up seven runs in the final three innings.

Miami is coming off of a, 9-4, victory versus the Boston Red Sox on Tuesday.

When We Last Met

This will be the second time the Tigers face the Miami Marlins this spring. In the first matchup, Detroit lost, 4-2. Detroit starter Alfredo Simon pitched four innings and allowed three runs on three hits with two strikeouts and one walk in that outing.

Detroit Tigers Lineup

Simon will be on the hill again on Wednesday against the Marlins. He was awful in his last start, allowing six runs in three innings versus the Yankees last Friday. Obviously, Tigers fans hope he is better in this start against the Marlins.

Right-handed pitcher David Phelps will start for Miami. He has been excellent this month, posting a 2-0 record with a 0.82 ERA in 11 innings this spring.
