CONFIRMED: Detroit Tigers trade David Price for Daniel Norris

It is official, the Detroit Tigers have traded their former ace pitcher David Price to the Toronto Blue Jays for one of the top 20 prospects in baseball, Daniel Norris.

Daniel Norris is the #18 best prospect according to Baseball America prior to 2015. He has just 10 games at the major league level with a 3.86 ERA and 1.500 WHIP. He has spent much of the last two seasons in AAA Buffalo where he is sporting a 4.27 ERA but has struck out 78 in 90 innings and walked just 41 in 16 games there this season.

Several more prospects are reportedly included in this deal.

Matt Boyd is also included, another left handed pitcher. He has been lit up in the majors in very limited action but has been sharp at Triple-A this year, posting a 2.77 ERA and 0.974 WHIP. He was the 29th best prospect in the majors according to BA.

Another piece coming in return is Jairo Labourt, another highly regarded Toronto pitching prospect.

These three left-handed relievers were the top three prospects in the Toronto organization. Nicely done, Dave Dombrowski!
