Detroit Tigers Rumors: Angels making last hour push for Yoenis Cespedes
There is less than a half hour left until baseball reaches its non-waiver deadline, and the Detroit Tigers still haven’t dealt left fielder Yoenis Cespedes.
In the last few hours, both the New York Met and Washington Nationals have been mentioned as teams trying to acquire Cespedes from the Tigers. The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim have also apparently thrown their hat into the ring.
Morosi tweeted that piece of information just after 2 PM EST. Shortly after that, Morosi also tweeted that the Mets were still discussing trading for Cespedes.
The left fielder is slashing .293/.323/.506 with 18 home runs and 61 RBI this season and would be a great addition to any club. Cespedes went 3-for-5 with a two-run homer in the, 9-8, victory over the Baltimore Orioles on Thursday.
