The Detroit Tigers seem to have steadied themselves into the No. 19 spot on our MLB Power Rankings. At least they haven’t continued to plummet although that spot is well below where many Tigers fans expected the team to be this season.

We would like readers to know that these power rankings are based on just one opinion, and the difference of opinion between readers and fans is what makes the power rankings so fun to discuss. Please let us know how we did in the comments section below.

For our list, we took into account record, strength of schedule, run differential and other human elements such as injuries.

More from Motor City Bengals

As always just because a team is on 8-2 hot streak, they don’t automatically jump to the highest spots. It’s like my high school coach always used to say, “A team is never as good as its best win, and it’s never as bad as it’s worse loss.”

Lastly, readers should know, the rankings are serious, but the comments for each team are generally not. There are so many baseball articles analyzing the most small details on the web, we wanted to start out the week with a little fun.

Here are MCB’s MLB Power Rankings for Week 20 of the 2015 baseball season.

Is Nelson Cruz on something again? He is hitting .359 with 15 home runs in 28 games since the All-Star Break (in no way, shape, or form do we have evidence to suggest Cruz is on steroids other than the fact he is hitting a lot of home runs and he has been suspended before).

9. San Francisco Giants (64-53)

Someone in the baseball scheduling office really hates the Giants. They play the Cardinals in St. Louis for three games, the Pirates in Pittsburgh for four games, the Cubs at home for three games, at Cardinals at home for three games and then the Dodgers in Los Angeles for three games to close out August.

There is no more dust to be swept up in Pittsburgh. The Pirates have swept the Marlins, the Phillies, the Brewers, the Dodgers, the Giants, the Diamondbacks, the Padres, the Tigers, the White Sox and the Mets, twice, this season.
