J.D Martinez, the former Detroit Tigers outfielder, is still looking for a high-value contract. The Boston Red Sox were rumored to be a suitor for Martinez. But, with their acquisition of Mitch Moreland, they may be out of the picture.

This offseason, teams have focused their bullpen acquisitions on making determinations using Statcast’s advanced metrics, reports David Alder of MLB.com.

Yu Darvish is a free agent and the Chicago Cubs are in need of a starting pitcher, so it’s no surprise that the Cubs met with Darvish. The starting pitcher posted10-12 record and 3.86 ERA in 31 starts for the Rangers and Dodgers last season. He struck out 209 over 186 2/3 innings in addition to his 10-12 record.

If the Orioles are going to trade away Manny Machado, time is not their friend in any potential deal according to MLB.com’s Brittany Ghiroli.
