Detroit Tigers History Is Full Of Gold

The Detroit Tigers have a rich history as outlined in a new book hitting shelves. The book looks all the way back to the founding of the franchise in 1894.

Our own Andy Patton took a trip down memory lane and looked at some favorite moments in Detroit Tigers History.  SB Nation’s Bless You Boys pointed out that Bing Crosby once owned the team.

The Detroit Tigers signed James McCann and four others to deals today, the team also added a pair of minor league relievers into the farm system.

Tigers beat writer Jason Beck takes a look at what the team is getting in Johhny Barbato. The Tigers claimed Barbato off of waivers from the Pirates.

Four months after having elbow surgery Tigers Ace Micheal Fulmer expects to be good to go once Spring Training starts.

Jason Beck quoted Fulmer as saying:

"“Everything is going fantastic,” Fulmer told Tigers play-by-play broadcaster Dan Dickerson and Pat Caputo on Tuesday night on the TigerTalk Hot Stove radio show. “We’re already kind of ahead of where our medical staff and physical therapist [expected]. They’re laying out a throwing program and we’re basically ahead of where they were thinking we would be at right now.”"

The Tigers haven’t been known as a solid baserunning team, Austin Green looks at whether that’ll change going into the 2018 season.

Yu Darvish recently indicated that there is a sixth mystery team that he’s interested in joining. Bless You Boys looks at the possibility of it being the Detroit Tigers.

Joe Jimenez was unable to spend the winter in his native Puerto Rico and instead spent the winter training in Lakeland.
