The Detroit Tigers are rebuilding in 2018 and the expectations for the season are low. That isn’t stopping the organization from being hopeful that Opening Day will sellout. According to the Detroit Free Press, last seasons home opener was the only sellout of the season.

Starting pitcher Michael Fulmer is heading into his first full season as the Detroit Tigers ace. Brad Faber, of Call to The Pen, asks how will he perform? Especially coming off the offseason elbow surgery. For the most part, Fulmer seems to be putting the injury in his rearview mirror.

Ronny Rodriguez is finding himself in the mix for a utility role with the team. Last year saw him have an offensive breakout season, writes Jason Beck.

Jeimer Candelario collided with O’s pitcher Kevin Gausman yesterday. Asked about the collision today, he said that everything was good, according to MLive.com. It seems that there aren’t any lingering effects from the collision.

Mike Fiers had his first start on the mound today in the Olde English D. The team played plenty of vets for the start, including Miguel Cabrera and Victor Martinez.

The University of Michigan’s SABR club released a preview of the 2018 Tigers. They think that the Detroit Tigers aren’t going to be as bad as you think. They also aren’t going to be great either.
