Detroit Tigers pitcher Francisco Liriano made his debut with the team yesterday. Lynn Henning, of the Detroit News, writes that Liriano showed flashes of himself in the game yesterday.  George Sipple, of the Detroit Free Press, writes that Liriano has a new pitching philosophy with the Tigers.

Max Bultman, of the Athletic, believes Liriano is best for a bullpen role with the Tigers. The article is behind a paywall, but a subscription to the Athletic is worth the price. The San Diego Tribune has a progress report of the Tigers so far through spring training.

Former Tiger Tony Clark believes that one-third of the MLB teams aren’t trying to win. George Sipple, of the Detroit Free Press, writes that Clark doesn’t’ like that there are still some big-name unsigned free agents.

Tigers pitcher Blaine Hardy is scheduled to throw a bullpen session next Tuesday at Tiger town writes Lynn Henning. With the Tigers rebuilding, the future of the franchise is in the hands of prospects. The Yankees brought Giancarlo Stanton and Aaron Judge their matchup against the Tigers. The Tigers gave Miguel Cabrera the day off. That didn’t stop the prospects from playing a game at Tiger town writes Jeff Seidel.
