The Detroit Tigers lost to the Indians yesterday as Corey Kluber pitched the lights out against the Olde English D. George Sipple, of the Detroit News, writes that the Tigers haven’t figured out how to hit against Kluber.  The Indians ace limited the Tigers bats to just two hits yesterday.

The Tigers have reiterated that they plan to use Daniel Norris as a started despite shuffling him to the bullpen. Andy Patton writes that the team should move him their permanently, where he’d provide solid relief.  Click on Detroit asks if the Tigers’ starting rotation can actually be good this season.

While the offensive side has been struggling in recent games the pitching staff has been keeping the Detroit Tigers competitive so far. The Tigers pitching staff is already showing revamped sliders writes Brandon Day of Bless You Boys.

Tigers pitching prospect Elvin Rodriguez struck out five batters in his debut with Single-A West Michigan Whitecaps. Our own Jim Kramer broke down that we might see some prospects come up and play in Comerica Park if the Tigers play poor enough during the season.

Jamie Samuelson, in a special to the Free Press, isn’t a fan of the Tigers new uniforms this season. He thinks that the team should bring back the smaller Olde English D. The Tigers are facing off against the Indians today, at the time of this they’re down 1-0 in the third.

So far Skipper Ron Gardenhire‘s lineup tweak isn’t helping the offensive side of the diamond.  Pitching coach Chris Bosio is absent from today’s game with an undisclosed medical illness.
