Detroit Tigers Minor League Game Reviews 5-29

Toledo lost to Syracuse 10-2. Box Score

On the offensive side of the diamond, Mikie Mahtook went 2-5. Christin Stewart went 2-4 with a home run and an RBI. Dawel Lugo went 2-4 with a double. On the mound, A.J. Ladwig pitched four innings of work giving up eight runs on eleven hits.

Erie lost to Binghampton 2-1. Box Score

Om the offensive side Will Maddox went 1-4. Josh Lester went 1-3 and Kody Eaves went 1-4. On the mound, Sandy Baez pitched seven innings giving up two runs on two hits while striking out seven batters.

Lakeland beat Tampa 5-1.  Box Score

Cam Gibson went 1-3 with a home run. Zac Shepard went 2-3. On the mound, Anthony Castro went the distance pitching all seven innings giving up one run on six hits and striking out eight batters.

West Michigan lost 2-1 to Dayton. Box Score

On the offensive side, Cole Peterson went 1-3. Jose Azocar went 1-4 and Jordan Pearce went 1-4. On the mound, Elvin Rodriguez went for seven innings. He gave up one run on three hits while striking out twelve batters.

Minor League Notes

The talk of the MLB draft has been the Detroit Tigers first overall draft pick this year. However, there is more to the draft than just one pick.
