Here at The Corner, we round up Detroit Tigers news and rumors around the Tigers blogosphere so that you don’t spend hours surfing the web searching.

The Detroit Tigers are going to be sellers when the trade deadline rolls around. The non-waiver trade deadline is July 31st. The hot stove is only going to get hotter as we approach that date. Our own Scott Fults analyzes possible Mike Fiers trade scenarios.

Andy Patton, on the other hand, thinks Fiers to the Athletics makes the most sense for the Detroit Tigers. Bob Wojnowski, special to the Detroit News, writes that the Tigers rebuild has hit some snags. Despite this, Woj also wrote about the Tigers trade hopes.

Over at the Detroit Free press, writer Jeff Siedel has some concerns about the Tigers. He thinks that the rebuild is slow and painful and has five reasons to support his belief. Anthony Camp, of iSportsWeb, doesn’t agree with the idea that the Tigers need to be sellers this season.

He saves himself by iterating that selling isn’t the wrong decision, but rather that the Tigers can wait to try and trade some of the veterans. Which, hasn’t really worked yet for the Olde English D. Castallenos’ defense gives cause for concern though, he might be better suited at the DH role. Victor Martinez currently has a negative WAR and is the second worst hitter in the American League. It’s NOT like moving Castallenos to DH would hurt the Tigers in any way.
