Detroit Tigers Minor League Notes

Toledo’s Artie Lewicki pitched seven scoreless innings and gave up one run as the Mudhens cruised by the Norfolk Tides. Chrisitin Stewart brought in three runs during late innings provided the offense needed for the victory.

Over at the Detroit Free Press, George Sipple writes that prospects in Toledo and Erie have less than a month to prove they deserve a September call-up.

With the Tigers not in any playoff hunt, September provides the perfect opportunity to expose prospects to the big leagues. The trade deadline is tomorrow and the Tigers have yet to make moves. However, last season they traded Justin Verlander.
