Just a few minutes after the clock struck 4:00 pm EST at the trade deadline, Detroit Tigers fans were treated to even more big news.

Detroit Tigers fans were left thinking that the only trade the team would make at this year’s trade deadline is Shane Greene going to the Atlanta Braves. However, as reported by Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, the Tigers and Chicago Cubs have made a deal to send OF Nicholas Castellanos from the Motor City to the Windy City.

Castellanos is a rental bat for the Cubs, as he is set to hit free agency after this season. He is batting .273 this season with 11 home runs and also leads the American League with 37 doubles.

According to Craig Mish of FNTSY Sports Radio, the Detroit Tigers receive pitchers Paul Richan and Alex Lange in return from the Cubs.
